Attention all aspiring beekeepers!
The Connemara Beekeepers are excited to announce a beginner’s beekeeping course on Zoom, taking place on Feb 13, 15, 22 and March 1st from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
Join Connemara Beekeepers Education Officer Mary Keenan and One of Connemaras most experienced beekeepers, Ger Coyne and learn the fundamentals of beekeeping and gain hands-on experience in the comfort of your own home. Limited spots available, so sign up now!
During the beginner’s beekeeping course, participants will learn the basics of beekeeping, including:
- The life cycle of bees
- The different bees in a hive and their roles
- How to set up and maintain a beehive
- Understanding of the different equipment used in beekeeping
- How to manage colonies and harvest honey
- Basic honeybee behavior and communication
- Importance of bees and their role in pollination and the ecosystem.

Cumann Beachairí Chonamara are holding a special meeting this Sunday, May 14th, 2023 at 3 PM at the beautiful Lake Hotel in Oughterard.
We’re excited to announce that this will be an “ask the expert” type of event, where you’ll have the opportunity to ask all your pressing questions and receive insightful answers from our resident beekeeping expert.
In addition to this, we’ll also be discussing future events and planning for the upcoming season. This is a great chance to get involved and make your voice heard in the community.
